Snow Day
The kids very much enjoyed their day in the snow. Mary took a private snowboard lesson, which gave her the opportunity to learn how to use a snowboard (which she has no experience with), as well as got her to the front of the lift line (which was very long). She had a blast, but was exhausted at the end of her two hour lesson. Eric wasn't quite as adventurous and was happy to just play in the snow and throw snowballs! The weather was perfect - it was sunny and not too cold.
We are so thankful for Ryan House and its wonderful staff who gave us this opportunity to get away for the weekend. Jack did well, but I think he was happy to see the familiar faces of both his nurses who stopped by to visit!
Renting the gear
all geared up and ready to go
playing in the snow
all smiles after a couple of hours on the slopes
let the snowball fight begin
I love this shot!
Unfortunately, the weekend did not end on a good note. This is how we found our car Sunday morning as we were getting ready to leave
Needless to say, no note was left and there were no security cameras to catch the creep who hit my car and ran. Fortunately, the damage is all cosmetic and the car is still drivable. As of now, the fender is being held up by duct tape. I'm not in a hurry to get the car fixed because I'm not in a hurry to spend the thousand dollar deductible! Grrrr!
Back to the grind tomorrow. Have a great rest of the week my friends.

Hi Ann,
Am so glad you had the weekend break and Jack also enjoyed himself. I know how hard it is to do but I always think of it as actually benefiting everyone as you get to have a rest and Jack gets to stay at a wonderful place and get new experiences. I really do get how difficult it is to let other people "take over" the care, especially when I am convinced that I'm the only one who really knows how to do it properly! (that's just me and my control issues though! ;) ).
Anyway well done for having the break and sending you and Jack lots of love, Bea xxx

Glad you all had a great time, hard though it was to leave Jack. The pics are great, looks like fun. sorry about the car though, that just stinks!
Hi Ann,
I'm glad you got a chance to "get away." Lord knows you need and deserve it :) It's so wonderful that you have the Ryan House to take care of Jack's needs so you can get a much-needed respite break. Love you guys!
It sounds like a great weekend! I'm sure Jack had a fun weekend being spoiled by his new nurses and friends from Ryan House--as he should be!
I hope you have a super week.

I'm glad you had a great weekend, but what a bummer about your car. No chance they didn't notice they'd hit you on that one.
The car thing sucks but the getaway sounds like it was what everyone needed! I bet Jack needed the break as much as you did. So glad you had great weather and Ryan House was there for you. -Caty
Great pics! I love how they are always all smiles! And awesome about the Ryan House. I know that was hard for you.
And the car... same thing happened to me just a few months ago. Same side and spot, too! And I haven't fixed ours, either. Totally agreed that he/she is a creep!
Hope all is well!
Love the images.
Ann, about the car I reversed out of our driveway once without looking behind me and drove right into someones car. I ate humble pie and knocked on every neighbours door and couldn't find the rightful owner, so I gave them our address. Turns out is someone we know, embarassing. I suck at driving, but not at admitting it, or leaving notes to the people I hit.
Sorry about your car.
Happy that you got some R&R.
