Tip for the Week

Always check the pockets of little boys' pants before washing.

_______________________________

Yesterday we celebrated July/August family birthdays.  Because it was unseasonably cool for August 1st here in the desert, we bailed Jack from the house and took him with us to my sister's house.  He was very happy about that.

Then again, Jack is always happy!

Eric was also very happy to have me take his picture:

(NOT)

Speaking of Eric. Last week, I asked him how his day at school was.  He told me that some of the kids in his class cry a lot.  I asked him who was crying.  He said that a girl in his class was crying because the math worksheet was too hard.  I asked him if it was hard for him.  His response:

"No mom, I did fine with it. But, just so you know, I don't want to get too good at math because then I'll be a math geek and math geeks are nerds and I don't want to be a nerd.  I've been trying to get rid of these glasses for years!"

Apparently, nerds wear glasses and are good at math.

Finally, I've determined that inside lighting is definitely better than outside lighting when you are old:

(but thanks for all the kind comments on the last picture of me and Jack).

Happy Monday friends and thanks for checking in!

Eric cracks me up. :) I'm glad you were able to get out with Jack, and that the weather cooperated. I love the picture of the pocket treasures. As the mom of a 10 year old boy, I've found gummy crabby patties before too! ;)

Can't tell the difference between the pictures, it's all in your head, you look great either way. You're trying to fit in just like your son. No worries, you're all fine, geek or old.

Good call on the pocket checking. That would have been bad.

Ann, I dig the glasses you're sporting. New? Pictures look great - inside or out. LOVE the pics of Eric around the California letters. How clever! And how are you putting the pics side-by-side?

Oh, and those darn army men!!! I find them all over the place! And they are not fun to step on!

Lastly, thanks for the comment today. I really, really liked it and appreciate it!!!! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

You're right though he does look happier than his ususal happy self. Sounds like fun.

Good thing you checked the pockets. That gummy hamburger could have been a real disaster in the dryer!

Another great picture of you and Jack. You both look great! And I like the glasses.

I not only love the pics of you and JAck, I love that you make sure to take a pic of you and Jack often. I can't recall the last time I took a pic of me with my guys. I'm just really always the one behind the camera in this house.
Oh, I will be checking the pockets of my kids, thanks for the heads-up. Henry is just the type to keep a small fish, sandcrab or some other dead thing in his pockets.

Thanks for the nudge on my blog, I would have gone another week if no one noticed ;)
