It's the most wonderful time of the year

I'm sitting here listening to Christmas music, Mark is baking cookies (yes, Mark is doing the baking) and Eric and Jack are watching "Elf". It's been raining all day, which is very unusual for us, but adds to the "Christmasy" atmosphere. We've got our outdoor lights and decorations up (but not our tree yet -- we get a real tree, and it's too early yet). I just LOVE this time of year!

We have no plans this weekend ... I just want to sleep in, lounge around and do nothing for at least one day. Think that will happen? Me neither.

Eric and school are like water and oil and it's just not working out. Eric morphs into this kid I don't recognize when he is at school and I can't take anymore phone calls and emails. So ........ we will be moving him after Christmas break to the self-contained gifted Kindergarten class. If his behavior continues to be an issue ... well, I'll start investigating military schools.

My sweet Jack had a wonderful week. We are rounding the corner on closing out the year without having to step one foot inside a hospital and not having to be on antibiotics once for a respiratory infection. It doesn't get any better than that! (Hopefully, I haven't spoken too soon).

Wishing you all a great weekend filled with holiday cheer.

Peace.

Sounds like a great weekend to me Ann (if you get the chance to lounge, that is!)
Glad Jack is doing so well, give him a big hug from me.
Hope Eric settles in the gifted program, it's maybe what he needs.
Sounds like you guys are pretty well organised. I did plan to start on the decorations today but with feeling so crappy myself and Sam too I'm going to wait another day or two.

That Eric sounds like a little monkey. Glad that you have to parent him. :)

Bravo for Jack. That is great news about not being sick. A real accomplishment indeed.

Here, here to jammies and doing nothing all wknd.

Love,
Tess

I myself managed to stay in sweats all day today! Decorations are out-outside lights too-but no tree yet. We too get a real one-probably next weekend. I'm not quite in the Christmas spirit yet but I'm sure it will come. I hope you were able to lounge around like you wanted-you need that. Wow, it will be interesting to see how Eric does at the first of the year-hopefully that's just what he needs. Oh and go Jack!!

Love,
ME

Thank you for logging on to our site. I admire your dedication and committment to your children. I know I only devoted four years of medical attention and it was exhausting. I cannot fathom how hard it is on all of you. I am so happy you have not had a hospital visit all year. Its amazing how we remember events and years by hospital visits. I remember Birthdays, father days, etc. by what surgery we had around that time. Thank you for letting me become a part of your family. Please cherish every moment you have with Jack even the rough ones. I would take a thousand more rough moments with Evan if I could just have him back!.... Sean deMello
