Hope is the thing that is willing to take a chance on the future. Hope is the capacity to see something on the horizon that we are willing to move toward. If our hope gets us from today to tomorrow, and in that new day we are ready or able to deal with something we thought we couldn’t face, then hope has done its job. There is a worse thing than false hope. It is no hope.

It is so hard to choose between the 2, they are both brilliant - I just love the blue of the ocean on the colour one - they are beautiful.
I think the blue of the ocean in the color picture is lovely, but it distracts from what should be the center of attention. I think it is the blue sky of the original photograph that transforms the picture from an excellent photograph to a work of art.

I like the black & white the best! I am so happy that you won, I have always loved the photo, and when I was at the beach with my grandkids last summer had them face the ocean to copy your pose....they all thought I was nuts, but that's not unusual! I know I've been "absent" lately, but have been keeping up with you via your blog. We'll talk soon!

Definitely the black and white. I like the color version too, but the meaning comes through better with the black and white with blue accents.
